Russ has been a published, professional writer for many years, working as both a staff and freelancer writer. He writes fiction and non-fiction:

Currently, Russ Heitz has two books published: CROSSHAIRS and KRAZY KRITTERS OF FLORIDA. A suspense novel, CROSSHAIRS is set in a small town wilderness area of Pennsylvania. Russ’ non-fiction work, KRAZY KRITTERS OF FLORIDA, is a collection of illustrated articles about some of Florida’s most interesting wildlife. The illustrations for KRAZY KRITTERS were done by another local artist, Jane Crick of Venice.
