According to the dictionary, one definition of “scene” is, “A sphere of activity”.  To us, a scene is a little more than that, so we offer the following modification to the definition,  “The sum of activities (art, music, entertainment, cuisine, events, etc.) available to an area, town, or city.”

The mission of SRQScene is to be a scene directory exploring and supporting the creative happenings in the greater Sarasota area.  While addressing all art and music, the bulk of our attention will be given to local artists offering original art, local businesses that support the local art scene, and local businesses offering unique cultural experiences.

Designed to be a community resource, SRQScene aims to support local artists as well as organizations that support local art and community engaging endeavors.  We will do this by providing directory listings, advertising, commentary, links to other online resources, and other social networking tools.
