Hello everybody and thanks for stoppin’ by.  SRQScene.com is a website designed to serve the greater Sarasota art and music community.  We aim to support and promote art, artists, art organizations, and arts-friendly businesses by providing Internet tools, networking with other local groups, and promoting dialogue among our creative thinkers.

The first phase of this project is to develop the Monster Directory of Sarasota Artists.  This directory will be different than most in that each artist is not only listed in a directory format (for example, a list of names and short descriptions), they also get an entire page to write about themselves, link to their website, and post examples of their work.  Similar to MySpace, but with an obvious focus on Sarasota.

As this and our other directories grow, we will continue to provide more social networking tools and continue to refine and “tweek” the website.  Some of the tools we are thinking about include forums, a marketplace, user accounts, event listings, mobile tools, mailing lists, or polls.
